Successful time at the Border Union Show Friday/Sat 30th and 31st July

Wind Turbine enjoyed a successful two days at the Border Union Show with a great deal of interest in the products we have to offer, mainly from the farming community, following the introduction of the Feed In Tariff in April this year.

On show at the stand were two, actual size, turbine hub's - the evoco 10kw and the evance 5kw machines. Both machines attracted a great deal of interest with the show attendees and gave massive focus on the products available.

Simon Maden, Managing Director, said " The interest shown in turbines at the Kelso show was very gratifying especially as most of the enquiries came from local farmers and businesses. This is our second year at the show and the interest generated was much better than last year which can be put down to a number of factors with the main one's being everyones increased knowledge of what is on offer in terms of the product and the financial incentives being offered to wind enegy generators in regards to the FIT's. Also, the evance 5kw and the evoco 10kw which were on show, both sit comfortably within the limitations laid down by the MOD for the seismic monitoring area in the Borders area which limits the size of turbine generators can install"

Planning Application PDF Print E-mail

Should you wish to proceed to a planning application we will at no cost submit an application on your behalf in an on-line format. This includes preparation of the main planning statement, administration of forms and the uploading to the planning portal of all of the documents that will make up your application. For some of the smaller turbines this may be all that is needed and no further costs will be incurred.

In addition to the individual information we prepare ourselves we will also upload free of charge the documents we have from the Wind Turbine Manufacturers which will include performance data, outline specification, manufacturers standard noise report, standard tower details and standard foundation details.

The following are not included in the no cost :

  • Application lodging fees - This varies dependant on the individual planning authority involved. Clarification on the exact amount will be given prior to submission.
  • Ordnance Survey Maps - Chargeable at approx £40 (we would advise on each instance), should you already have a suitable plan in your possession we may be able to use this instead.
  • Attending site meetings with planning officers - Chargeable at £35/hr
  • Additional Reports - Should they be required by the planning authority we can provide additional reports such as design & access statements, visual impact assessments, background noise & ecology reports. The charge for these would vary dependant on each individual application/turbine involved and would be clarified prior to any work being undertaken.

If you choose, on our successfully obtaining planning consent not to proceed with your turbine which will have been fully costed to you prior to lodging the planning application we reserve the right to charge our costs in the planning application at a cost of £500 for the basic application
